Paintings and Limited Edition Prints by Helen Rawlings

Welcome to my website,

I am an artist currently living and working in North Yorkshire finding most of my inspiration from nature. I particularly enjoy painting animals and birds, also accepting commissions for animal portraits

Although my subject matter may be around a similar theme my method of work is very varied, from egg tempura icons to large bold acrylics as well as different hand printing techniques.

A bit about myself:

After having completed an Illustration course at Harrow School of Art (University of Westminster) I was asked to paint a portrait of a friend’s horse and things sort of snowballed from there. Working almost exclusively in watercolour I completed many commissions and exhibited at various country fairs in and around Kent where I lived at the time, my big annual event being the Kent County Show. I produced some limited edition prints of gun dogs and horses which i sold at the fairs and through various country magazines.

Too many adventures to recount on this page but in a nutshell; I stopped painting for a living, joined the police, moved to Brighton, got married , retired, got a degree in theology and ordained as a self supporting minister in the Church of England, moved to North Yorkshire, started painting for a living again.

You can see some of my work in the following pages
